Sunday School/Catechism
Our mission at Sts. Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene Sunday School is to help our children grow in their understanding of their Orthodox Faith. We hope that the more our children understand, the more they will develop towards living and loving our orthodox faith. Our aim is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for our youth in which they will learn the doctrines and traditions of the Eastern Orthodox Church, live that faith on purpose, and feel God’s constant presence in their life.
Our Sunday School program follows the recommended texts identified by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Our teachers use innovative and creative teaching methods and supplement the curriculum by special programs and projects. Catechism classes are held each Sunday from August through May, and are offered for children in K-12th grade. Classroom instruction begins immediately following Holy Communion and is held for approximately 30 minutes. The entire Sunday School participates in many events throughout the year: Agiasmo, Godparents Sunday, special class projects, the Christmas Pageant, the Oratorical Festival, and our annual Group Communion and making of Palm Crosses on the Saturday of Lazarus.

Children learn best by living their faith with their family at home and with their friends in class, and most especially, as they regularly participate together in the Liturgical and Sacramental life of the Church. Our dedicated teachers provide a welcoming, loving environment for all students. Learning can be, and is, fun! Come join us
